Outkick Gambling Picks Week 10

My hot run continued in week 9, as the Houston Texans went into London and scored an easy win over the rival Jacksonville Jaguars. The Texans ended up being a great value pick (final moneyline was -128) and moved my NFL lock of the week picks to 8-1 on the year.

Outkick Gambling Picks Week 10

The NFL upset picks section wasn’t quite as successful, but we’ll aim to turn that around in week 10.

This week promises to deliver one of the most competitive weeks of football of the season. Teams are really starting to jockey for position, both at the top of divisions and near the bottom of NFL playoff wild card races.

What happens in week 10, believe it or not, could have huge ramifications for the rest of the 2019 NFL season.

Each week OddsShark’s Jon Campbell and Clay Travis from Outkick the Coverage break down the week’s best betting action. They talk about the bets to make, lines to avoid, and some odds and stats on the latest events in sports.

The actual impact of the coming week of NFL action remains to be determined. Bettors will want to at least try to get out in front of it, though. I’ll do my part with a look at my NFL week 10 betting lock of the week and underdog picks.

The Green Bay Packers looked terribly ill-prepared for their week 9 showdown in California. That was a little shocking to see, but perhaps it shed some light on who the Packers really are.

Even if it doesn’t, the Packers still have some questions to answer. They also have a tough assignment ahead of them in a 5-3 Carolina Panthers team that boasts perhaps the most dynamic offensive weapon in all of football.

Should the Packers really be 5.5-point favorites? Or will Christian McCaffrey make the top NFL sportsbooks look silly for dropping this betting line?

Here’s a look at the Panthers vs. Packers odds for week 10.

I honestly love three bets for this game: the Panthers as a potential upset pick, the over in a likely shootout, and the Panthers against the spread.

The last bet is the underdog play, and honestly, consider this breakdown an extension of my week 10 NFL upset picks. The Panthers are absolutely a threat here.

I do think Green Bay responds to last week’s horror show, though. The Packers probably win here, but their defense has given up a lot of points lately, and Green Bay isn’t blowing the door off the hinges (4-3) against the spread as a favorite in 2019.

Carolina, meanwhile, can really move the ball effectively via McCaffrey. Green Bay is terrible at stopping the run, too, while they just do not have an answer for someone like McCaffrey in space.

I mean, the guy is a running back, and he’s a legit NFL MVP candidate.

It is mind-boggling why teams don’t just run non-stop against this Packers defense. But McCaffrey can kill Green Bay both as a runner and receiver, while the Panthers also have viable weapons in the passing game in Curtis Samuel, D.J. Moore, and Greg Olsen.

The Panthers aren’t wowing you with their ATS numbers (2-1 as road dogs ATS), but they’ve been in virtually every game this year. The one caveat is a crushing 51-13 loss to the mighty San Francisco 49ers.

Based on everything we’ve seen from both sides, I anticipate the Panthers moving the ball at will and putting up some points. Carolina is a viable straight-up pick and figures to beat this spread, but everything points to a shootout here.

Outkick Gambling Picks Week 10 Printable Schedule

This just feels like an incredibly low total given the upside for both teams, as well as two defenses that bend a lot and give up some points. I’ll take the over here, especially early in the week before it goes up.

Week 10 NFL Upset Picks to Target

This past week really wasn’t the week to bet a bunch of money on underdogs, as it turns out. Home teams went 11-2 on the week, and favorites had a strong 8-5 record, too.

Take away the Dolphins winning their first game and New England losing their first, and that mark is even more staggering.

Suffice it to say, unless you bet on the Dolphins or liked the Ravens to hand New England their first loss, there wasn’t a whole lot for you.

Surprisingly, I think week 10 could be somewhat similar. That said, here are some of my favorite NFL underdog picks.

The Browns are officially still the Browns. I’d say they’re a disaster, but that’s not really reporting anything new. Cleveland started the season failing in the face of crazy expectations, and they’ve really never bounced back fully.

Perhaps Cleveland will go on a wild run and prove me wrong during the second half of the year. Maybe all it takes was Baker Mayfield shaving off his handlebar mustache.

Outkick Gambling Picks Week 10 Against The Spread

I just tend to doubt it.

At this point, I trust the Buffalo Bills more than I trust the Cleveland Browns. The Browns literally haven’t won at home yet in 2019, and they’ll be facing a pretty talented Buffalo defense.

The Bills have looked a little more leaky defensively in recent weeks, but I also like their offense in this spot. Baker Mayfield and this Browns offense have given us no reason to trust them.

Until Cleveland starts racking up wins, we can confidently bet on the opposition anytime the best NFL betting sites decide to make them the underdog.

Detroit Lions (+125) Over Chicago Bears (-145)

I also love the Lions this week. They fell to the Raiders on the road last week, but Oakland is a little bit better than anyone is willing to admit. The Bears, on the other hand, are abhorrent.

Mitch Trubisky is the most benchable quarterback in all of football, yet the Bears keep rolling him out there. He isn’t the only reason Chicago is struggling, but he’s certainly holding the offense back.

Until the Bears make a change under center, the narrative strongly suggests the wheels will stay off the track.

Detroit is better than their record indicates, too. They’ve had some really tough losses and could very easily be close to undefeated if things broke differently. They still need to prove it on the road in a tough environment, but this is virtually a playoff game. Look for the better team to prevail.

I don’t see much else to get excited about in the way of week 10 NFL underdog picks. You can go the extra mile with the Panthers (+200) or Seattle Seahawks (+210), but they are in hostile environments against better teams.

Both the Panthers and Seahawks are fantastic plays against the spread, but it might be a mild reach to bet on them to steal wins on the road.

Overall, I do love the over in the Panthers game, and I think bettors can snag some nice value via two NFL upset picks. Hopefully, these picks treat you well this week. For all other pro football betting advice, head over to our NFL betting guide.
